Brahim Diaz's World Cup Form Shapes Inter and Juventus Interest

Brahim Diaz's future may be decided by his performance at the 2026 World Cup, where he will lead Morocco after winning the Africa Cup of Nations player of the tournament award. Inter Milan and Juventus are both monitoring the Real Madrid attacker, while Real Madrid negotiate a contract extension to 2030. Beppe Marotta raised Diaz's name directly with Florentino Perez in a meeting that also covered Mastantuono, Endrick, Arda Guler and Rodrygo. The conversation placed Diaz as the least attainable of the five Real Madrid targets. Real Madrid are in advanced talks to extend Diaz's contract through 2030, and the player has expressed a preference to remain at the Bernabéu. His current deal runs to 2027, and the reported agreement in principle has not yet been formally announced. Diaz scored 12 goals last season under Carlo Ancelotti, demonstrating his output when given regular minutes. He logged 103 minutes at the Club World Cup under Xabi Alonso, highlighting limited involvement in that competition. Inter Milan view Diaz as an advanced playmaker who could unlock tight defenses without a structural overhaul. The transfer channel between Inter and Real Madrid is already active after Real Madrid moved on Denzel Dumfries, providing a working route for any future deal. Juventus' pursuit was driven by Massimiliano Spalletti, who identified Diaz as the ideal attacking midfielder for the club's summer rebuild. Contacts were initiated before Damien Comolli's departure, but Diaz showed no openness to the move. A strong World Cup showing with Morocco, opening against Brazil, would sharpen both Inter and Juventus' resolve while strengthening Diaz's bargaining position with incoming coach José Mourinho. Real Madrid will not rush a decision while the tournament is live. The most likely scenario is a Real Madrid extension announcement after the World Cup, unless Diaz's tournament performance convinces the club he deserves a starting role rather than a rotation cover. For now, the World Cup serves as both audition and leverage for his future.
