Brazilian Série B clubs chase World Cup star goalkeeper Vozinha
Goalkeeper Josimar José Évora Dias, known as Vozinha, is attracting interest from two Série B sides – Atlético Goianiense and Avaí – as he becomes a free agent after his contract with Portugal’s Chaves ended on the 30th, with his 24.8 million Instagram followers adding commercial appeal.
Journalist Marcelo Braga said Atlético Goianiense and Avaí are already in discussions about a possible signing for the 40‑year‑old goalkeeper. He added that negotiations are still at an early stage.

The goalkeeper’s social media reach is a further lure; his Instagram account now records 24.8 million followers, up from 56,000 before the World Cup. That figure puts him close to overtaking Flamengo, the club with the highest follower count at 24.9 million. Atlético Goianiense suffered a 3‑0 defeat to Novorizontino on Saturday and currently sit 12th in the Série B table. Avaí, by contrast, occupies a relegation‑zone slot, positioned 18th with a game in hand. During Cabo Verde’s historic World Cup run, Vozinha featured prominently as the team reached the round of 32, drawing three group matches before pushing Argentina into extra time and delivering a strong performance against Spain.
