Carlos Tevez reveals collapsed Real Madrid transfer

Carlos Tevez says he had signed a contract to join Real Madrid, but the deal collapsed after the club's president was removed. The agreement had been signed, kept with a solicitor, and was awaiting formal announcement. Tevez explained that he spoke with president Ramon Calderon at three in the morning and that sporting director Pedja Mijatovic was also involved in finalising the paperwork. He said the contract was placed with a notary to be presented after the season. The planned presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu never occurred because Calderon’s dismissal led to the contract being voided and all parties being removed from the deal. Tevez described the situation as "incredible" and a long story. A three-time Premier League winner, Tevez previously played for Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus, and he noted he had also come close to signing for Barcelona. He is now working as a football coach.
