Charleroi transfers Etienne Camara to Panathinaikos for €4m
Sporting Charleroi confirmed the sale of French midfielder Etienne Camara to Greek side Panathinaikos, a deal worth four million euros, as the Belgian club's summer transfer window opened on 17 June. The 23‑year‑old, who joined from Udinese in February 2024 and featured in 85 matches for the Zebras, departs as Charleroi prepares for further exits.
Only Jules Gaudin left the first team, moving to Stade Lavallois in French Ligue 2. Meanwhile, central defender Noah Solheid arrived from Seraing to bolster the Zebras' back line.
The club also expects the exits of midfielders Yacine Titraoui and Parfait Guiagon, according to transfer reports. Both players have seen their market values rise, with Titraoui listed at seven million euros and Guiagon at five million euros on Transfermarkt.
Yacine Titraoui, a 22‑year‑old Algerian midfielder selected for the 2026 World Cup and unused against Argentina, is linked with Olympique de Marseille. His valuation of seven million euros suggests a significant fee could be secured.
Parfait Guiagon, an Ivorian left winger who extended his contract until June 2028, arrived at Charleroi in August 2023. His five‑million‑euro valuation indicates the club may seek a profitable transfer.
The departures open space for Amine Boukamir and Yassine Khalifi to assume larger roles in the midfield. Charleroi also aims to find a competitor for striker Aurélien Scheidler.
Mario Kohnen, the former assistant coach and native of Eupen, is expected to be confirmed as head coach after impressing sporting director Nicolas Frutos. The appointment would solidify the coaching staff ahead of the new season.
