Club Brugge ranks 17th in Europe, ahead of Manchester United

🇧🇪

Club Brugge finished the 2023‑24 season as the 17th‑ranked club in Europe, accumulating 74,250 UEFA ranking points, surpassing clubs such as Manchester United, AC Milan, Juventus and Benfica in the latest coefficient calculation for the 2023‑24 campaign.

Club Brugge defeated AS Monaco 4‑1 in the Champions League group stage. The Belgian side also beat Olympique Marseille 3‑0, securing its place in the League Phase for a second consecutive year.

In the knockout round, Club Brugge was eliminated by Atletico Madrid, who proved stronger. Despite the loss, Brugge's overall European record remained impressive. The defeat came after a tightly contested tie that saw Brugge score twice.

According to Het , Club Brugge currently holds the 17th position in the UEFA coefficient ranking for the past five years, with 74,250 points. On the UEFA website the club is listed 19th, needing an additional 6,000 points to move up to the 17th spot.

Club Brugge reached the Conference League semi‑finals in the 2023‑24 season, where it lost to Italian side Fiorentina. The semi‑final appearance earned the club an additional 21,000 ranking points, 6,500 more than the previous season.

The 2021‑22 season, in which Club Brugge finished last in its Champions League group with only four points, will soon be removed from the five‑year calculation and replaced by the current campaign. Removing the low‑point season could further improve Brugge's ranking and potentially secure a more favorable Champions League draw in pot two.
