Darmstadt secures Moroccan winger El Kadiri for over €0.5m
Ibrahim El Kadiri is set to join German 2. Bundesliga club SV Darmstadt 98 from Dutch side De Graafschap for a fee exceeding half a million euros, De Gelderlander reports. The 24‑year‑old Moroccan youth international will leave the Doetinchem club before the summer window closes.
El Kadiri was absent from De Graafschap's training session on Friday, confirming his imminent departure. He has already passed the medical examination at SV Darmstadt 98.
The winger is a Morocco youth international. His contract with De Graafschap ran until mid‑2027 before the transfer.
SV Darmstadt 98 previously reinforced its squad this window by signing PSV Eindhoven talent Nicolas Verkooijen. PSV had preferred the 19‑year‑old Belgian to remain longer, but he opted for a new adventure.
In the current Keuken Kampioen Divisie season El Kadiri contributed five goals and five assists. Those figures underline his impact for the Superboeren last campaign.
He arrived on a free transfer from FC Volendam in the summer of 2024. In an earlier interview he said, "Ik wil een mooie stap maken en ik hoop dat De Graafschap meewerkt. Nu kunnen ze ook nog wat aan mij verdienen."
