Souffian El Karouani leaves FC Utrecht after three seasons
Souffian El Karouani confirmed his departure from FC Utrecht on social media.
The 25-year-old left-back will leave the club on a free transfer after three seasons in De Galgenwaard. El Karouani reflected positively on his time at FC Utrecht, where he made 82 competitive appearances.
FC Utrecht announced his exit earlier this month, confirming he would not feature beyond the 2023–24 campaign. The club thanked him for his contributions across 82 games.
El Karouani joined FC Utrecht in 2021 from MVV Maastricht, making 82 appearances and scoring four goals. His contract expired at the end of June.
His final match for FC Utrecht came on May 12, 2024, in a 2–1 loss to AZ Alkmaar. The left-back started 68 of his 82 appearances.
El Karouani’s next destination remains unconfirmed. He is expected to explore options in Belgium or abroad.
