Federico Chiesa Says He Wants to Stay at Liverpool

Federico Chiesa has indicated he wants to remain at Liverpool this summer, despite reported interest from Juventus and Como. Journalist Mirko Di Natale says Chiesa prefers to fight for his place under new head coach Andoni Iraola. Iraola's arrival changes the dynamic. Under former manager Arne Slot, Liverpool won the Premier League title in 2024/25 before his dismissal on 30 May 2026. Chiesa spent the 2025/26 campaign largely on the bench, making 33 appearances in all competitions but starting only twice, for a total of 686 minutes. In the Premier League he featured 23 times, started once and logged 278 minutes, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Overall he contributed three goals and three assists, averaging a goal contribution every 114.3 minutes. Juventus explored a move in January, but Liverpool's valuation prevented a deal. Como are also monitoring the situation and could offer Champions League football. Juventus would likely guarantee regular Serie A minutes. Liverpool must now decide whether Chiesa fits Iraola’s plans, as the player has expressed a desire to stay and compete for a role.
