Feyenoord stalls €7 million Porto bid for Hwang, seeks higher price

🇳🇱 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Feyenoord Rotterdam has turned down a €7 million offer for midfielder In-beom Hwang, a bid reported by Record, and is demanding a higher price. FC Porto, eager to bring the South Korean to Portugal, have already secured a personal agreement with the player.

The Rotterdamse club insists the fee must exceed the €7 million they paid in the summer of 2024 for the Rode Ster Belgrado midfielder. Hwang remains under a two‑season contract with Feyenoord, giving the Dutch side leverage in negotiations.

Porto is pressing for the Zuid‑Koreaan to join the Portugese side after reaching a personal agreement with him. The club has outlined a contract of up to three seasons should the transfer materialise.

A provisional agreement with the player's representatives has been secured, mapping out his move to Portugal. The Portugezen are keen to sign Hwang but have yet to meet Feyenoord's valuation.

The Mexicaanse club Monterrey also submitted an offer, which the Rotterdammers dismissed as insufficient. Their proposal fell short of the higher price the Rotterdam side demands.

The latest programme, De show, covered a range of issues from Bellingham to Argentinië and Embolo. It highlighted the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Hwang alongside broader football debates.

Aangezien the Portuguese are not prepared to raise the initial €7 million substantially, the deal could still collapse. If an agreement is reached, Hwang could sign a contract of up to three seasons in Portugal.
