Giovanni van Bronckhorst follows World Cup and Oranje
Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the freshly appointed Feyenoord head coach, told reporters he is tracking the World Cup closely, keeping an eye on the Feyenoord women’s side and the Dutch national team. He highlighted the participation of Tsuyoshi Watanabe, Ayase Ueda, Jordan Bos, In‑Beom Hwang and Anis Hadj Moussa at the tournament.
Van Bronckhorst, who took charge of Feyenoord this season, made the comments during his first public presentation as coach. He said the global tournament offers a unique perspective for a Dutch manager.
He named Tsuyoshi Watanabe and Ayase Ueda as Japan’s representatives at the World Cup. Both players are part of the Japanese squad.
Jordan Bos was mentioned as the Australian delegate, while In‑Beom Hwang represents South Korea and Anis Hadj Moussa stands for Algeria. Their inclusion underscores the tournament’s diverse national lineup.
“Het hele WK volgen is superleuk”, he said, describing his enjoyment of the competition.
Van Bronckhorst added that many memories resurfaced as he watched the matches. He now follows the Feyenoord women’s team, known as the Feyenoorders, more attentively. He also keeps a closer eye on the Dutch national side, Oranje.
As a Dutchman, he hopes for a successful campaign for the Netherlands. He noted that he knows many people within the team and staff, and watches the tournament primarily as a fan.
