Juventus and Roma eye Atlético Madrid defender Matteo Ruggeri
Agents of Matteo Ruggeri confirm interest from Juventus and Roma in the Atlético Madrid left‑back. The agents spoke to Sky Sport Italia after a meeting with Inter directors on Wednesday morning.
Manuel Montipò said Ruggeri delivered seven assists in 48 appearances for Atlético Madrid, starting most games. He added that Atlético Madrid is happy to retain him, that the market is open with requests from Italy and abroad, but nothing concrete has materialised.
Tullio Tinti, who also represents Inter defenders Alessandro Bastoni and Matteo Darmian, confirmed the Italian clubs’ interest, saying “I know, and there are many more” before leaving with a smile.
Ruggeri arrived at Atlético Madrid from Atalanta in a €17 million deal last summer and is under contract until June 2030. The 23‑year‑old has yet to earn a senior Italy cap.
