Karim Adeyemi hesitates on Borussia Dortmund extension

Karim Adeyemi is hesitant to sign a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.

His current deal runs until summer 2027, and the club has offered an extension to 2030 with a raise on his €5.5 million salary.

Adeyemi and his representatives also want a release clause that would allow a move to the Premier League.

Under manager Niko Kovač in the 2025/26 season, Adeyemi made 28 Bundesliga appearances, scoring seven goals and providing four assists, starting only 15 matches.

If he rejects the extension, Borussia Dortmund may try to sell him this summer for around €40 million, and if he stays until 2027 and leaves on a free, a signing‑on fee of up to €15 million could be triggered, Daniel Pinder of GGFN reported.
