KNVB predicts 15,000 Oranje supporters will rally in Texas for Sweden clash

The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) forecasts that roughly 15,000 Oranje fans will be present in Texas for the World Cup group encounter with Sweden on Saturday. The estimate matches the 15,000 supporters who turned up for the earlier Japan match, surpassing the original 10,000 projection. Before the Japan game, the KNVB had projected about 10,000 supporters would attend. In reality, 15,000 fans filled the stadium, exceeding the original forecast. For the upcoming Sweden clash, the KNVB expects a similar turnout of roughly 15,000 fans in Texas. This figure mirrors the attendance recorded against Japan. The federation allocated 5,000 tickets for Dutch supporters, and all of them have now been sold. The rapid sale underscores the high demand for tickets among expatriate fans. “We notice that the World Cup is incredibly alive in the United States. Many Americans put on an orange shirt and join in,” the KNVB told Algemeen Dagblad. The statement highlights the growing American enthusiasm for the Dutch team. Oranje will kick off the second group match against Sweden at 19:00 Dutch time on Saturday. The fixture forms part of the World Cup tournament schedule.
