KPN ties itself to Dutch football until 2030 with KNVB deal

KPN has extended its sponsorship partnership with the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) through 30 June 2030. The agreement positions KPN as a ‘Partner of Football’, continuing its association with the Netherlands national teams (men and women), the KNVB, and Dutch football across all levels.

The renewed collaboration will focus on three pillars: a robust digital backbone for the KNVB, enhanced digital fan experiences around Oranje, and practical digital solutions for amateur clubs. The deal builds on existing IT and connectivity support already provided by KPN to the KNVB.

Joost Farwerck, CEO of KPN, said: “A tournament like this shows how football unites the Netherlands. You need to be able to rely on infrastructure that works. Thanks to our networks, millions can follow the action without delay and share their football moments instantly.”

Dave Dekker, KNVB director of commerce, added: “We are pleased KPN will remain connected to Dutch football in the years ahead. KPN has been a trusted partner for years and helps us keep football accessible, visible and connected for everyone—from Oranje to amateur clubs.”

Beyond the national teams, the partnership will also target amateur clubs, exploring how digital tools can assist both organisationally and on the pitch. KPN and the KNVB will also expand their digital channels, including E_Oranje, the KNVB’s Gen Z platform, aligning with how younger fans consume football: direct, digital and always connected.

The two organisations will continue investing in initiatives that promote inclusivity, including support via the KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds for the growth of Walking Football at amateur clubs, targeting older adults at risk of social isolation.
