KV Kortrijk wins 0-6, striker Suf Podgoreanu injured

KV Kortrijk played their second pre‑season friendly yesterday against White Star Lauwe, securing a 0‑6 victory with Jellert Van Landschoot scoring a hat‑trick. New signing striker Suf Podgoreanu suffered a muscle injury that is expected to keep him out for several weeks, a blow to the Belgian promotion side. Earlier in the pre‑season, KV Kortrijk recorded a 1‑4 win over KFC Marke, demonstrating their attacking intent. Promoted clubs often begin preparations weeks before the season ends to be ready when other teams are still building squads. The match was overseen by Hein Vanhaezebrouck, former player and trainer of White Star Lauwe, who was recruited by KV Kortrijk in 2006. His presence added a familiar face for the hosts during the heated pre‑season encounter. After the break, KV Kortrijk added five more goals, with Nadir El Majdoub, Bryan Adinany and Anthony Philips each finding the net. The final tally of six goals highlighted the depth of the squad's attacking options. KV Kortrijk’s next friendly is scheduled for Saturday against Diksmuide – Oostende. The club hopes to maintain momentum ahead of the new Jupiler Pro League season.
