Lewis Hall open to Manchester United move, eyes Champions League
Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall has indicated he is open to joining Manchester United this summer. The 21‑year‑old says a move would give him the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season, while his current contract runs until the summer of 2029.
Hall featured in 47 matches for Newcastle across all competitions last season. He contributed one goal and a couple of assists during that campaign.
Observers describe him as one of the Premier League’s most talented left‑backs. He delivered a string of impressive displays on the left side of Newcastle’s backline.
Hall’s contract with St. James’ Park expires in the summer of 2029. That timeline could make it difficult for Manchester United to secure him on a reduced fee later this year.
He is a solid tackler who can scan danger well to win possession back inside his own half. Hall also offers decent crossing ability and can chip in with occasional goals from the left flank.
While primarily a left‑back, Hall is capable of playing as a box‑to‑box midfielder. He can also operate as a left‑sided wide player when required.
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick would gain defensive quality by adding Hall to his squad. The 21‑year‑old is expected to compete for a regular starting place at Old Trafford and help the Red Devils across all fronts.
