Liverpool reject Bayern Munich interest in Rio Ngumoha
Journalist David Lynch said Liverpool will not let Rio Ngumoha leave despite Bayern Munich interest. The statement was made on Media Matters for Anfield Index.
Lynch explained Liverpool gave the matter short shrift straight away. Reports say Bayern Munich have identified Ngumoha as a potential target.
Ngumoha, 17, is a winger praised for pace, directness and ability to beat defenders. Lynch described him as "electric" and noted England may regret not involving him more ahead of the World Cup.
Lynch added that Ngumoha will probably find it easier than the Premier League.
The arrival of Andoni Areola will give Ngumoha a full pre‑season. Lynch said this is better overall for the club.
Lynch suggested Liverpool will not have to slowly blood Ngumoha at the start of the season.
Ngumoha can operate on both wings, offering versatility across the front line. Lynch said the best way is to play in multiple positions.
Liverpool plans to secure Ngumoha’s future with a long‑term contract when he turns 18.
Bayern Munich can only admire from a distance as Liverpool’s position remains unchanged.
