Liverpool target Yan Diomande after Salah exit

Liverpool's summer plan focuses on signing wide attackers after Mohamed Salah's departure. The club has identified Yan Diomande as a leading candidate and made contact on June 4. Manager Andoni Iraola, appointed after Arne Slot left, will oversee the recruitment. Yan Diomande impressed in the World Cup, featuring in Ivory Coast’s 1‑0 win over Ecuador. RB Leipzig reportedly would require more than €130 million (around £112.3 million) to release him. The Athletic notes Liverpool’s interest grew after his performance. Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola is also on Liverpool’s radar, reflecting the need for pace and one‑on‑one threat. The club’s priority is to forge a new attacking identity rather than add depth. Federico Chiesa’s future remains uncertain and Hugo Ekitike is recovering from a ruptured Achilles. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate and Rhys Williams have all left Liverpool as free agents. Carter Pinnington has joined West Bromwich Albion on a deal with no upfront fee but add‑ons and a sell‑on clause. Curtis Jones, valued at about £35 million, has attracted interest from Inter Milan, while Darwin Nunez is not expected to return. Iraola has asked for time to assess the squad during pre‑season, with the World Cup complicating transfers. Centre‑midfield and right‑back positions also require attention. Luca Stephenson remains in talks over a permanent move, with Bolton Wanderers leading the chase.
