Manchester United Drop Nathaniel Brown as Bayern Move In

Manchester United have decided not to enter a bidding war for Nathaniel Brown. Bayern Munich are close to completing a deal for the 22‑year‑old defender worth more than €60 million. Brown has risen to become one of Europe’s most watched young left‑backs after his spell at Eintracht Frankfurt. He is expected to be Germany’s first‑choice left‑back at the upcoming World Cup. United had assessed him as a high‑calibre option to support Luke Shaw. Brown has already agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich and the transfer is expected to be finalised before the World Cup begins. United’s decision reflects a judgment that the financial terms no longer suit them. Under manager Michael Carrick and director of football Jason Wilcox, United are now turning attention to Lewis Hall. Hall, 21, remains United’s preferred target and is believed to be open to a move, while Newcastle United are reluctant to sell. United still lack a left‑back solution, leaving a gap in their rebuild. Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Brown may see him become a long‑term cornerstone for the German club.
