Manchester United eye RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare

Manchester United are reported to be preparing an offer for RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare. The 23‑year‑old Mali international has attracted attention after a strong Ligue 1 campaign. United’s search for midfield reinforcements follows a £130 million valuation placed on Elliot Anderson by Nottingham Forest. The club has already secured a deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson Silva, leaving further gaps to fill. FootMercato journalist Sebastien Denis posted that United are ready to make a formal approach for Sangare. Denis wrote: “Mamadou Sangaré has caught the eye of Manchester United, who are preparing an offer for the midfielder”. Sangare recorded three goals and four assists in 39 Ligue 1 appearances last season. Dean Jones noted that his physical traits and technical ability could translate well to the demands of English football. Analyst Bence Bocsak described Sangare as “quietly becoming one of the best young midfielders in Ligue 1”. He added that the player is a “proper box‑to‑box midfielder with great dynamism and energy” who covers a lot of ground and presses effectively. United’s recruitment strategy, guided by INEOS, aims to sign players before they become globally established stars. At 23, Sangare offers experience, physicality and room for further development that fit this model. Supporters view the potential signing as a smarter alternative to spending over £100 million on established names. If United act decisively, they could secure a midfielder poised to grow in the Premier League.
