Manchester United's pursuit of Gilberto Mora intensifies

Journalist Graeme Bailey reported that Manchester United are targeting 17‑year‑old Gilberto Mora, the Mexican playmaker who currently stars for Club Tijuana. Mora recorded six goals and one assist across 20 appearances in all competitions last season, highlighting his attacking contribution.

The Red Devils would face competition from Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool for the youngster’s signature. All four clubs have been linked to the Mexican prospect as the summer transfer window approaches.

Mora is praised for his dribbling ability and his vision to deliver decisive passes in the final third. He primarily operates as an attacking midfielder but can also be deployed on the left wing if required.

His contract with Club Tijuana runs until the summer of 2029, meaning United may need to meet a significant fee to secure his services. The length of the deal could limit the possibility of signing him on a low‑cost deal this off‑season.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick could use Mora to add quality and depth to his attacking options. The 17‑year‑old is already considered capable of serving as a rotational player in the squad. A photo by Luke Hales captured Mora celebrating after Mexico’s 2‑0 win over South Africa in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group A match on 11 June 2026.

If Mora continues to develop, his future at Old Trafford looks promising. United are advised to intensify their pursuit in the current transfer window to stay ahead of rival clubs.
