Mbappe says he and Kounde roast each other more

Kylian Mbappe revealed his friendship with Barcelona defender Jules Kounde during international duty. He said they see each other in Spain and now roast each other more than when he was at Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe noted that Kounde has had the last word more often recently as France have not been winning against Real Madrid. He added that both players always keep club matters separate when representing France. Mbappe described Kounde as a bloke he talks to about many topics, including politics. He emphasized that the banter does not affect the atmosphere within the France national team. Jules Kounde has been a key player for Barcelona in the 2024/25 season. He saw a dip in form and recurring injuries in the 2025/26 campaign. He remains an important right-back for coach Didier Deschamps. Kylian Mbappe, now a Real Madrid forward, has yet to win a trophy with his new club and hopes his fortunes improve in the 2026/27 season.
