Netherlands' World Cup Path: Possible Opponents and Venues Through Quarter‑Finals

After a 2‑2 draw with Japan, the Netherlands can still finish anywhere from first to fourth in Group F, with upcoming games against Sweden and Tunisia shaping their World Cup knockout route. Coach Ronald Koeman’s side must navigate these scenarios to know which opponent and stadium they will face in the round of 16. If the Dutch top Group F, they will meet the runner‑up of Group C on Monday 29 June in Monterrey, with kickoff at 03:00 CET. Group C contains Brazil, Morocco, Scotland and Haiti, where Brazil and Morocco drew and Scotland beat Haiti, making Brazil or Morocco the possible opponent. Finishing second in the group would pit the Netherlands against the winner of Group C, the match also scheduled for 29 June but in Houston at 19:00 CET. The Group C winner will emerge from Brazil, Morocco, Scotland or Haiti, depending on the remaining fixtures. A third‑place finish sends the Netherlands to a round‑of‑16 clash with the second‑placed team from Group A versus the second‑placed team from Group B, hosted at Estadio Azteca. Group A comprises Mexico, South Korea, Czech Republic and South Africa, while Group B includes Switzerland, Canada, Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Should the Dutch progress, the quarter‑final is set for Thursday 9 July in Foxborough, kicking off at 22:00 CET. Their opponent would be the winner of Group E (Germany, Ivory Coast, Ecuador or Curaçao) or Group I (Norway, France, Senegal or Iraq). A victory would lead to a semi‑final on Saturday 11 July in Miami at 23:00 CET, with a potential semi on Wednesday 15 July in Atlanta at 21:00 CET. Possible semi opponents include the Group I winner (Norway, France, Senegal or Iraq) or the Group D winner (United States, Australia, Turkey or Paraguay), while the round‑of‑16 venues for third‑place finishes are Houston Stadium and MetLife Stadium.
