Rhian Wilkinson says Wales can reach World Cup

Wales beat the Czech Republic 3-1 to claim top spot in Group B1. Coach Rhian Wilkinson said the result shows Wales can qualify for next year's Women's World Cup. Wales fell behind after five minutes before Lily Woodham equalised quickly. Gemma Evans headed Wales ahead early in the second half. Mared Griffiths sealed the victory with a late goal. The group win gives Wales a favourable play‑off path, with the draw scheduled for 18 June. The play‑off semi‑finals are set for October and the finals for late November and early December. Wales will face a runner‑up or third‑place team from another League B group, then likely a League A side. Wilkinson said the squad can enjoy a four‑month break with confidence in controlling their destiny. She noted the ambition was to win the group unbeaten, which the team achieved. Wilkinson added that the performance ranks among Wales' best.
