Rigaux revives pursuit of Skov Olsen as Feyenoord eyes wing boost

Dévy Rigaux, the newly appointed sporting director of Feyenoord, is actively courting Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen to join the Rotterdam club this summer. Rigaux draws on his years at Club de Bruges, where he oversaw the policy that made Olsen a key figure.

Rigaux knows Olsen "inside out" after years of collaboration at Club de Bruges. During that period, the Danish international emerged as an absolute cornerstone of the Belgian side's sporting strategy.

In the summer of 2024, Olsen topped Feyenoord's transfer targets, with the club prepared to spend heavily. Feyenoord even secured a provisional agreement with Club de Bruges for what was described as a record deal.

The deal never materialised, and Olsen remained at Bruges for an additional half‑season. He ultimately transferred to VfL Wolfsburg in January 2025, leaving Feyenoord without the anticipated right‑wing reinforcement.

At Wolfsburg, Olsen has struggled to replicate his Bruges form, experiencing mixed fortunes and failing to cement a guaranteed starting berth. The Danish winger is therefore receptive to a fresh challenge.

Rigaux argues that his familiarity with Olsen's playing style and personal motivations gives Feyenoord a negotiation edge. The club aims to bolster its flanks this summer, and Olsen's experience promises immediate impact in both the Eredivisie and European competitions.
