Royal Antwerp eyes Calvin Stengs as Feyenoord looks to cash in
In the early hours of a busy Rotterdam morning, Royal Antwerp’s director of football Marc Overmars was reported to have placed Calvin Stengs high on his club’s transfer wish list. The 27‑year‑old winger, whose loan at Pisa ends this season, still has a contract with Feyenoord for one more year.
Overmars has not yet made a concrete approach for the Dutch forward, leaving the timing of any Antwerp move uncertain. Stengs previously spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Royal Antwerp from Nice, featuring in 21 Belgian league matches and scoring once.
Feyenoord scout Martijn Krabbendam told on Wednesday that several clubs are monitoring Stengs, though he named none. Transfer journalist Mounir Boualin confirmed that Royal Antwerp is among the parties showing interest.
Bosz's crossroads: PSV contract till 2028 versus Dutch coach hopes
Feyenoord could earn a fee by offloading the former PSV and AZ player before his contract expires. With only one season left on his De Kuip deal, the Rotterdam side may look to cash in this summer. Last season, Stengs was loaned to Serie A side Pisa, where a lingering groin injury limited him to four appearances and no goals. Pisa finished at the bottom of the Italian top flight. Stengs began his senior career at PSV before moving to AZ, where he developed as a left‑footed attacker. His experience across Dutch top clubs adds to his appeal for Antwerp, who seek to strengthen the squad.
