RSC Anderlecht appoints Vitor Bruno as new head coach
RSC Anderlecht announced Vitor Bruno as its new head coach, with the 43‑year‑old Portuguese set to be introduced to the press and fans on Wednesday at Lotto Park, officially marking the start of the club’s preparation for the 2024‑25 season.
The appointment allows Anderlecht to commence its pre‑season work without delay. Club officials noted that with Vitor Bruno the Belgian side again has a T1 in charge.
A welcome tweet read: “Welcome to Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht, Vítor Bruno.” The post was accompanied by a three‑star rating graphic.
Anderlecht confirmed the deal is fully completed. The 43‑year‑old Portuguese will be presented to the press and public on Wednesday.
Bruno’s senior managerial résumé is brief. He began the 2024‑2025 campaign as head coach of FC Porto but was dismissed after a few months.
He can draw on his time as assistant to Sergio Conceição. In that role he served under the volatile Portuguese at SC Braga, FC Nantes and Porto.
Bruno is tasked with reviving the purple‑white DNA, defined by Anderlecht as attacking and creative football. The club expects his philosophy to shape the team’s style.
His first test arrives within a month, when Anderlecht faces Hammarby IF in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. The Belgian side cannot afford any misstep in that fixture.
