Tottenham Hotspur target Sandro Tonali as move gains traction

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Tonali is open to joining Tottenham.

Tottenham have already completed deals for Liverpool's Andrew Robertson and Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi as free agents.

Manager Roberto de Zerbi has named Tonali as a key target for the club. Tonali said he is attracted by the project and wants to play for de Zerbi. The expected deal could involve a package of around €100 million, roughly £85 million.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have also been linked with Tonali. United and Arsenal consider the price too high, while City’s priority is Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. Newcastle United are not under pressure to sell Tonali after selling Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69.3 million. The club is unlikely to lower Tonali’s valuation.
