Abel says City must pay premium for versatile Allan

After Palmeiras' 4‑1 home win over Vasco on Sunday the 23rd, coach Abel Ferreira praised Brazilian midfielder‑attacker Allan, comparing him to Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and warning that Manchester City will have to spend heavily in the transfer market to secure his services.

Versatility fuels high price tag

Ferreira highlighted Allan’s ability to attack and defend, a trait he said only 10% of wingers possess. “These teams want a player like Allan because 90% of wingers don’t do what he does, which is attack and defend. They will have to pay,” he asserted.

He then used Chelsea’s Pedro Neto as a benchmark, noting that “if they want to look for him they will have to pay 100 million euros.” The coach added that top clubs prefer players who can contribute on both ends of the pitch.

Palmeiras' firm stance on fee

Despite ongoing talks, Palmeiras kept Allan in the squad for the match against Vasco, underscoring his importance to the team. The midfielder‑attacker remains a key piece in Ferreira’s system.

The club’s release clause is set at roughly €100 million, which translates to about R$ 601 million at current rates.

Negotiations are reportedly circling between €35 million (R$ 210.2 million) and €40 million (R$ 240.2 million), though no final agreement has been reached.

City's interest amid squad changes

Manchester City is scouting Allan as an offensive alternative after the departure of Savinho to Tottenham. The English side sees his two‑way play as a solution to the void left by the Brazilian.
