Anderlecht eyes Romanian double champion for under €500k
RSC Anderlecht are reportedly targeting 25‑year‑old Romanian midfielder Mihai Lixandru, who wishes to leave FCSB, with a transfer fee estimated between €300,000 and €500,000 for a player who has already won two Romanian championships. The 25‑year‑old, under contract until 2029, could join the Brussels side this summer.
Lixandru suffered a serious injury that cost him his place in the FCSB starting eleven. During his recovery his relationship with club president Gigi Becali soured, with the owner publicly criticizing the midfielder.
The Romanian is known for his willingness to duel and his ability to break up opposition attacks. He also offers tactical flexibility, being able to fill in as a central defender when required.
Transfermarkt values Lixandru at €1.2 million, yet Anderlecht estimates a transfer fee between €300,000 and €500,000. Such a figure would be unusually low for a player with European competition experience and two domestic titles.
Beyond Anderlecht, clubs in Switzerland are monitoring the midfielder’s situation. Rapid Vienne and Virtus Entella have also been linked to his potential move.
If Anderlecht secures the deal before the summer window closes, they will add a versatile squad member at modest cost. The club will need to outbid the interested foreign sides to complete the transfer.
