Andy Najar propels Nashville to the top of MLS
Six years after his free departure from Anderlecht, Andy Najar, 33, puts on the colours of Nashville in MLS and establishes himself as a starter, providing one of the three goals in a 3‑0 victory over Chicago, the club of Robert Lewandowski, which confirms the top of the Eastern Conference.
Nashville dominates the Eastern Conference
After 26 matches, Nashville has accumulated 17 wins, six draws and three defeats, which places it at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Najar returned to MLS in 2025 after a spell at CD Olimpia in Honduras, preceded by spells at Los Angeles FC and D.C. United.
He began his professional career at D.C. United before joining Anderlecht in 2013, where the club signed him on a free transfer.
The Belgian past of Andy Najar
During seven seasons at Anderlecht, he played 164 matches, scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists, winning the Belgian league in 2014 and 2017 as well as the 2014 Super Cup.
In July 2016, Transfermarkt valued him at six million euros, his peak before his free departure to Los Angeles FC in 2020.
This first place does not award any additional points for the playoffs, but it simplifies the path of the leader, who will face the winner of the play‑off between the eighth and ninth placed teams.
