Arsenal's key player Declan Rice is targeting a mega salary
Photo: On a step with Bukayo Saka – Arsenal FC continues to work on its sporting future. As reported, key player Declan Rice is close to signing a new contract that will keep him at the club longer. The new salary is said to be over €412,000 per week, the same as Bukayo Saka.
Extension with record salary
After Mikel Arteta's recent contract extension, Arsenal is now working on the next important signing. Rice's current contract runs until 2028 and is intended to be extended in the long term, possibly until 2030 or 2031.
The wage increase would secure Rice a weekly income of over €412,000, equivalent to an annual salary of more than €21 million. This would give him the same pay as teammate Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal move to match Saka's wage as Rice nears new deal
Three years ago, Rice moved to the Gunners for €116.6 million and has since developed into one of Arteta's key players. During that time he has made 165 appearances for Arsenal.
With Arsenal, he won the Premier League last season. The title underlines his importance to the club.
Since 2019, Rice has been a regular member of the England national team and most recently took part in the World Cup under manager Thomas Tuchel. His international experience also enhances the Gunners' profile.
