Arsenal secures Arteta’s future with contract until 2030
At the Emirates Stadium, under Wednesday lights, Arsenal announced, according to journalist Kin Cheung, that Mikel Arteta, 44, and Premier League champion, signed a contract extension that will keep him in charge until June 2030. After leading the club to the historic title and to the Champions League final, the manager secured his future with the Gunners.
The deal replaces the previous contract, which expired in June 2027, and extends the relationship until June 2030. According to BBC Sports, the new pact represents a considerable increase over the roughly €17 million that Arteta was earning per season since 2024. The statement, prepared by José Luis Artús, highlighted the continuity of the project.
Premier and Champions League Champion
Arteta led Arsenal to the Premier League title, breaking a 22‑year drought, and to the Champions League final last season. In his first campaign he also lifted the FA Cup, becoming the youngest manager to achieve the double.
“We have forged a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime. The most exciting thing is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together,” Arteta said in the club’s official statement.

Salary increase and contract duration
The new contract, whose exact figure has not been disclosed, exceeds the €17 million per year that the manager was receiving. With 220 wins in 361 games, Arteta boasts a success rate of 60.9 percent, the highest among Arsenal managers with at least 50 matches, surpassing Arsène Wenger.
American owners Stan and Josh Kroenke expressed their pride, saying: “We have a special relationship with Mikel and we are very proud of everything achieved since his return in 2019.” The statement underscored the group’s confidence in his project.
Before arriving in London, Arteta was a midfielder for FC Barcelona and an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He took over as manager in December 2019, so if he fulfills the contract, he will be in charge of the Gunners for more than a decade.
