Atletico legends back Julian Alvarez as Barcelona link grows

🇪🇸

Julian Alvarez's push for a move to Barcelona has become one of the biggest transfer stories in Spain this summer. While Atletico Madrid repeatedly claim the Argentine striker is not for sale, speculation persists and several club legends have voiced their opinions.

Atletico Madrid's hierarchy has repeatedly insisted that Julian Alvarez is not for sale. The club's firm stance contrasts with the growing media speculation linking him with Barcelona.

Barcelona remain strongly linked with the forward in reports. The ongoing interest has intensified debate about his future at the Metropolitano.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo recently expressed frustration over the endless questions surrounding Alvarez's future. Cerezo's comments highlighted the club's desire to put an end to the speculation.

Marcos Llorente said his close relationship with Alvarez makes him view the situation personally rather than purely sporting. He added, “Because of the relationship I have with Julian, I want him to do whatever makes him happiest or brings him the most joy. As a friend, I’ll support him.”

Diego Godin emphasized that a player must want to stay at Atletico, recalling Fernando Torres's words. Godin said, “I hope Julián stays,” and added, “You can’t go out and find a player like Julian these days. I don’t know what sort of fee it would take…”

Diego Forlan warned that losing the Argentine striker would be a significant blow for Atletico. He remarked, “It’s a shame, but people have to understand that we’re professional players.”

Forlan praised Alvarez's development, noting he has followed the player since his time at River Plate and Manchester City. He said the striker has grown and improved a lot in recent years.

The debate continues as Barcelona maintain their interest and Atletico hold firm on the transfer. The situation remains unresolved, keeping fans and media attentive.
