Besiktas turn to Egyptian King to fill attacking void

Besiktas have moved quickly to sign Mo Salah, the Egyptian King, as they look to replace a departing attacking talisman and revive their European ambitions, with the 34‑year‑old ending his £400k‑a‑week deal in early June and still believing he can perform at the top level.

Besiktas have been hunting for a marquee forward after earlier attempts by Galatasaray and Fenerbahce fell through, leaving a clear gap in their attacking line‑up. The club’s swift move to secure Salah reflects a strategic shift toward adding proven European experience.

Following a spell at the FIFA World Cup with Egypt, the Egyptian forward STILL believes he can contribute at the highest level. The 34‑year‑old Pharaoh is eager to wear the Besiktas jersey and make an impact in the Turkish Super Lig.

Besiktas expect to seal the signing sometime this week once issues over bonuses and commissions are ironed out. The deal is set to be finalised before the end of June, aligning with the accelerated exit from his former club.
