Besnik Hasi wants to rebuild Amedspor with Belgian benchmarks

Besnik Hasi, now coach of Amedspor in the Süper Lig, tried to lure a Anderlecht leader to Turkey, but the Belgian club flatly refused, while its squad already rich with Belgian faces continues a brilliant season after six matchdays where they have amassed thirteen points.

A Belgian team at the heart of Amedspor

Under Besnik Hasi's direction, Amedspor includes among its players Yira Sor, David Bates, Mbaye Diagne and Gift Orban, all well known in Belgian football. Goalkeeper Colin Coosemans could also have joined the club, according to the coach.

Hasi said he wanted to take Coosemans to Turkey, but Anderlecht immediately issued a categorical refusal. The goalkeeper eventually extended his contract with the financial recognition he wanted, while other names supplied by Hasi were not considered feasible.

A lightning‑fast start to the season in the Süper Lig

Amedspor made a remarkable start in the Süper Lig, occupying the top spot in the table after six matchdays with thirteen points out of eighteen. It shares the points total with Galatasaray but enjoys a better goal difference.

Turkish club Besiktas follows closely, one point behind, while Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor are three points back. These performances place Amedspor among the title contenders from the start of the campaign.

The league’s top scorers are Mo Salah and Gift Orban, the latter being a former player of La Gantoise. Under Hasi’s guidance, Orban is experiencing a spectacular renaissance, scoring several spectacular goals in recent weeks.

Hasi will have to face Romelu Lukaku, also present in Turkey this season, in a clash between their teams. He believes the Belgian, who arrived late after a difficult season, will quickly find his place and is not worried about his physical condition.

The coach recalled that the relationship with Anderlecht remains strained, describing the dispute as a “rag that is still burning”. He added that the Belgian club had not been honest with him during the negotiations.
