Bournemouth Appeal After Academy Misses Category One

🇬🇧

AFC Bournemouth are appealing the decision that its academy failed to achieve Category One status. The appeal follows the academy's inability to meet the Elite Player Performance Plan criteria.

Category One is the highest status awarded to a club within the professional game under the Elite Player Performance Plan. The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is a long‑term youth development strategy introduced in 2012.

The plan resulted from a consultation between the Premier League, the FA and the EFL. That 2012 consultation produced the framework that defines academy categories.

Bournemouth will pursue the appeal under the regulations set by the Elite Player Performance Plan.
