Gordon dines with Deco on first day in Barcelona

Anthony Gordon completed his first day in Barcelona ahead of his official signing with FC Barcelona with a dinner at the city’s renowned Botafumeiro restaurant. The dinner was hosted by Deco, FC Barcelona’s sporting director, who welcomed Gordon alongside Bojan Krkic, Alejandro Echevarría and Joao Amaral, FC Barcelona’s scouting director.

The dinner lasted two and a half hours, concluding around 11 PM at the Barcelona seafood restaurant. No further details about the ongoing transfer or contract terms were disclosed during the evening.

FC Barcelona are finalizing the signing of the 23-year-old winger, who arrived in the Catalan capital on Tuesday. The club is expected to confirm the move in the coming days, pending medicals and contract finalization.

Gordon, currently at Newcastle United, has been a target for FC Barcelona for several weeks. The club views him as a potential reinforcement for the attacking wing positions.

Deco, who took charge as sporting director in July 2023, continues to oversee major recruitment decisions as FC Barcelona rebuild the squad.
