Dinamo Zagreb adds Barcelona’s La Masia winger to boost depth

🇪🇸

Dinamo Zagreb have secured the services of 20‑year‑old La Masia winger Dani Rodriguez, addressing the Croatian side’s desire to inject youthful attacking talent. The transfer sees the Barcelona academy product leave the Catalan club, which retains a buy‑back clause and a future sell‑on percentage.

Rodriguez departs Barcelona in search of regular first‑team football, a goal aligned with Dinamo Zagreb’s plan to give the young winger consistent minutes. His move follows the path of former La Masia defender Sergi Dominguez, who also joined the Croatian giants.

Rodriguez has been with FC Barcelona since 2020, after arriving from Real Sociedad’s academy. During his time in Catalonia he made over 40 appearances for Barça Athletic, the club’s reserve side.

He made his first‑team debut for FC Barcelona in May 2025, featuring in a La Liga match against Real Valladolid. The appearance ended prematurely when he suffered a dislocated shoulder. "FC Barcelona and Dinamo Zagreb have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dani Rodriguez. The club retains a buy‑back option on the player, as well as a percentage of any future sale," the club statement read.

FC Barcelona also issued a statement of thanks to the winger. "FC Barcelona would like to express its gratitude to Dani Rodríguez for his commitment, dedication and work during all these years at the Club, and wishes him the best of luck and much success, both personally and professionally, in this new stage," the statement concluded.

Rodriguez will aim to secure regular minutes at Dinamo Zagreb, while the Catalan club retains control over his future. The arrangement leaves open the possibility of a future return should the buy‑back clause be exercised.
