European clubs pursue Rosenborg's Amin Chiakha as German sides watch
Algerian international Amin Chiakha, who impressed with Rosenborg this season, is already attracting a host of European suitors. German Bundesliga clubs SC Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach are monitoring him closely, while Rosenborg have set a asking price of up to €20 million.
Contract and valuation
Rosenborg exercised a purchase option on Chiakha from FC Copenhagen in August last year for roughly €5 million, marking the most expensive transfer in Norwegian football history. The forward subsequently signed a new deal that runs until 31 December 2030.
The club now values the 20‑year‑old at around €8 million but aims to secure a fee between €15 million and €20 million, plus a percentage of any future resale. Such terms are intended to deter less‑determined bidders.
European suitors beyond Germany
Beyond the Bundesliga, French sides Rennes and Monaco, Spanish club Sevilla FC, Belgian Anderlecht and KAA Gent have also gathered information on the player. At this stage, no formal negotiations have been launched and clubs are merely observing.
The rising profile of Chiakha is stirring interest across Europe, but Rosenborg have made clear that a winter departure is unlikely unless an exceptional offer emerges.
