Noël Le Graët Says He Never Considered Zidane for 2022

🇫🇷

Former French FA president Noël Le Graët said he never considered appointing Zinédine Zidane as national team coach in 2022. He made the comment days before the World Cup, which starts on 11 June.

Le Graët will follow the France squad from a distance this tournament. He discussed the national side alongside references to Zidane and Kylian Mbappé.

In the three previous World Cups he attended matches in person. This edition marks a shift in his involvement.

The tournament spans 11 June to 19 July. Le Graët’s remarks came as the competition approaches.

Le Graët’s comments underline his continued interest in French football despite his non‑active role. He will watch the team's progress remotely.
