Fenerbahçe sign Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong from Nice
Kojo Peprah Oppong has confirmed his departure from OGC Nice to join Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe, ending a year on the Côte d’Azur after arriving at the club on 25 July 2025. The 22‑year‑old central defender will leave after a season in which he featured in 43 matches and scored once.
Un petit tour et puis s’en va. The move, long‑rumoured since the start of the summer, is now official.
Season performance and national breakthrough
« Arrivé au Gym le 25 juillet 2025, le jeune défenseur central (22 ans) a été l’une des satisfactions du dernier exercice, où il a participé à 43 matchs (1 but). Sa régularité lui a ouvert les portes de l’équipe nationale du Ghana, avec qui il a disputé la Coupe du monde cet été », a écrit OGC Nice dans un communiqué.
Transfer history and financial details
Oppong arrived at Nice from IFK Norrköping during the 2025 inter‑season for €2.7 million and was instrumental in the Aiglons’ Ligue 1 survival in the 2025‑2026 campaign. Fenerbahçe have now paid €12 million to secure his services.
His regular performances earned him a place in the Ghana national team, and he featured for the West African side at the World Cup this summer.
Les comptables niçois will welcome the profit, as the Turkish club’s €12 million outlay exceeds the €2.7 million Nice originally paid.
C’est donc ça réaliser une plus‑value.
