FIFA sanctions Fenerbahçe and Sevilla demands €3 million over En‑Nesyri

Sevilla FC will receive an extra income after FIFA sanctioned Fenerbahçe for not having paid the €3 million installment corresponding to the signing of Youssef En‑Nesyri, who was sold for €19.5 million in the summer of 2024. The claim, filed by the Spanish club, was resolved in Sevilla's favour, which will obtain the owed amount.

FIFA imposes three periods without signings

FIFA punished Fenerbahçe with a ban from taking part in three market periods, a direct measure due to the non‑payment of the fee dated 30 April 2026. The sanction was formalised after Sevilla's complaint to the sport's highest global body.

The Turkish club issued a statement acknowledging the sanction and explaining that the measure is “temporary” and is linked exclusively to the transfer fee for En‑Nesyri. In the statement, Fenerbahçe said it had started actions to regularise the situation with FIFA.

Commitment to immediate payment

According to the statement, Fenerbahçe's board assured that the €3 million payment will be made the following Monday, a working day on which the bureaucratic procedures will be completed. Once the amount is received, the entity expects FIFA to lift the transfer sanction.

The club also announced that it will present all financial statements and obligations from the past period at its Ordinary General Assembly, scheduled for 27 September 2026, with the aim of maintaining transparency before its members and the public.

Subsequent destination of En‑Nesyri

Youssef En‑Nesyri was later transferred to Arab football for €16 million, a figure lower than the original sale price. Since the deal did not generate any profit, Sevilla is not entitled to any additional transfer percentage.
