Florian Thauvin celebrates Lens's comeback in Prague

Florian Thauvin provided the equaliser in the 90+1 minute, allowing Lens to win 3-2 against Slavia Prague on Thursday in the Champions League, a match broadcast on Canal+. After a difficult period, the players showed remarkable character.

A decisive goal at the very end

The goal was scored in the first minute of added time, bringing the score to 2-2 and triggering the final phase of the comeback that led to the third goal. This action sealed Lens's victory on Slavia Prague's ground.

The mentality praised by the striker

“Congratulations to, we had the mentality tonight,” said Florian Thauvin in the post‑match conference. He highlighted that the team’s reaction reflected a strong collective will.

Thauvin also reminded that the club was coming out of a difficult period, and that this win would “create that extra soul for a season.” According to him, this mindset will be decisive for the upcoming challenges.

He described his teammates as “lions”, insisting that everyone fought without ever giving up. This mentality, according to the scorer, was rewarded by the result.

When referring to his own goal, Thauvin added humorously: “We will have seen everything in football, if I start scoring with my head! More than a goal, it’s a state of mind. We give everything until the end, we score with the foot, the head, the butt…”.

He believes this positive reaction will benefit the team throughout the season, strengthening confidence and cohesion. Lens thus hopes to continue this momentum in the upcoming Champions League matches.
