Football mourns Jesus de Miguel, while Serie A sends condolences

The football world is in shock over the death of Jesús de Miguel, Tenerife striker, which occurred less than 24 hours after the violent clash with goalkeeper Jesús Owono in the Segunda División match between Tenerife and Andorra; Serie A expresses condolences.

The 30-year-old striker was hospitalized at the university hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria after the violent impact with Andorra's goalkeeper, Jesús Owono, in the final minutes of the match.

During the night Tenerife had reported a worsening of the neurological condition, and this morning the news of the tragedy was released.

The Roman club AS Roma said: “AS Roma joins the condolences for the tragic loss of Jesús de Miguel Alameda and offers its support to his family, his friends and the entire Tenerife community at this very difficult time”.

The Milanese club FC Internazionale Milano wrote: “FC Internazionale Milano joins the condolences for the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel, player of CD Tenerife. The Club stands close to the family of the Spanish player, his club and his teammates at this moment of deep sorrow”.

The Lombard club AC Monza expressed: “AC Monza shares the grief of Jesús's family and stands close to the entire @CDTOficial for this terrible tragedy”.
