French substitutes Dembélé and Upamecano escape on bicycles in Paris

While France faces Belgium, the two substitutes Ousmane Dembélé and Dayot Upamecano, rested by the ZZ staff like the rest of the Blues, took advantage of a bike ride in the capital. Videos shared on X show them at Place de la Concorde, in the heart of Paris.

The staff chose to rest the substitutes, keeping them away from the pitch during the match against Belgium. This decision allowed the two internationals to enjoy a moment of relaxation outside the usual setting.

Accompanied by Moustapha Diatta, childhood friend of the future 2025 Ballon d’Or, the two players rode through the Parisian avenues at complete ease. Diatta’s presence was highlighted in the images shared online.

Cycling is not yet a regular activity for Dembélé and Upamecano. The former FC Barcelona player had already been spotted last August on an electric bike alongside Achraf Hakimi.

Despite this budding enthusiasm, Dembélé, 29 years old, dropped a pouch and had to turn around in the middle of traffic to pick it up. His teammate, the Bayern defender, lost control of his bike, narrowly avoiding a fall.

The two Blues quickly returned to Clairefontaine, where they regrouped with the rest of the squad. The hurried return marked the end of this unusual ride.
