From Turkey Montella dismissed after defeat against Italy

From Turkey Montella has been dismissed: the Turkish Federation has decided to terminate the relationship with Vincenzo Montella, according to Fanatik in recent hours, following the negative performance in the Nations League and the 3‑1 defeat against Italy.

Nations League, a campaign without victories

Turkey's campaign in the Nations League ended at the bottom of the group, without any victory. Four defeats were recorded, which left the team in last place. This record has fueled discontent within the Federation.

In the previous World Cup cycle, the Turkish national team failed to get past the group stage, returning home with only one win, achieved against the United States. Despite this result, Montella remained at the centre of the Federation's project.

End of a campaign, the search for a new coach

The 3‑1 defeat against the Azzurri marked the point of no return for Montella, confirming the team's difficulties in finding continuity and results. The latest defeat pushed the management to make the final decision.

President Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu and the Turkish management, who until recently had backed Montella, have therefore decided to terminate the relationship with the Italian coach.

If the news is confirmed, Montella's adventure, former coach of Milan and Fiorentina, on the Turkey bench will come to an end. The Federation will now have to find a new head coach to revive the team.
