Genk’s multi‑million windfall from Saibari’s Bayern move

🇧🇪

KRC Genk will receive more than five million euros from the transfer of Ismaël Saibari to Bayern Munich, thanks to a resale clause negotiated when the midfielder moved to PSV Eindhoven. The payment also includes a training compensation that will raise the total by several hundred thousand euros.

The clause grants Racing Genk a 10 percent share of any future resale fee, which translates into roughly €5 million from Saibari’s €55 million move to Bayern Munich. reported that the club will also benefit from an additional training indemnity.

The training indemnity is expected to add several hundred thousand euros to the sum, further boosting the club’s finances. Such compensation stems from Saibari’s development period in Belgian academies.

In 2020, KRC Genk sold Saibari to PSV Eindhoven for €200,000, 10 percent resale clause at that time, anticipating future value.

Before joining Genk, Saibari trained at the Belgian academies of Beerschot, Anderlecht and KV Malines. These formative years laid the foundation for his later success.

Saibari now joins Bayern Munich of Vincent Kompany, marking his entry into the German powerhouse. The move follows his impressive performances for Morocco.

At the 2026 World Cup, Saibari has scored three goals, making him Morocco’s top scorer so far. Morocco eliminated the Netherlands on penalties (3‑2) and will meet Canada in the round of 16 on Saturday at 19 h.
