Go Ahead Eagles chase Norwegian striker Erik Flataker for €1m

Go Ahead Eagles are on the verge of signing 21‑year‑old Norwegian centre‑forward Erik Flataker from Swedish side AIK, with a reported transfer fee of about 11 million Swedish crowns – roughly one million euros – who has been at AIK since July last year, is said to be unhappy in Sweden.

AIK are currently negotiating with Go Ahead and aim to secure the 11 million‑crown sum, while the Dutch club had already tabled a €1.5 million offer in the winter that did not materialise. The Swedish club hopes to raise the amount beyond the earlier proposal.

Flataker prefers to operate as a centre‑forward but was never the undisputed first striker at AIK. His limited playing time has prompted the Norwegian to seek a move back to the Netherlands.

At Deventer, Flataker would have to compete with forwards Stefan Sigurdarson, Victor Edvardsen and Thibo Baeten for a starting berth. Edvardsen is also rumored to be considering a summer exit.

Having joined AIK in July of the previous year, Flataker’s potential switch would represent a mid‑season reinforcement for Go Ahead. The deal is expected to be concluded before the summer transfer window closes, subject to personal terms.

Flataker is a Norway youth international, having represented his country at various junior levels. His experience abroad adds a different dimension to Go Ahead’s attacking options.
