Inter closes 2025‑26 accounts in profit while Barça praises Lautaro
On 17 May 2026 the Viale della Liberazione club announced a net profit of €22.7 million for the 2025‑26 fiscal year, while at the Portugal Football Summit the sporting director of Barça, Deco, described Lautaro Martínez as “a spectacular player”.
Record Inter financial statement
Inter's income statement shows revenues of €518 million, the second‑highest result in the club’s history after the record €567 million of the previous season. The profit of €22.7 million follows the +€35 million of 2024‑25, confirming two consecutive years in the black.
The result was achieved thanks to a reduction in production costs of about €20 million, equivalent to 4 percent, and a 7 percent increase in commercial revenues, mainly from merchandising and match‑day.
Player‑trading income rose by €11 million, while amortisations and impairments of players’ multi‑year rights fell by €8 million, helping to improve net equity by €10.4 million compared with the €12 million deficit closed in 2024‑25.
Barça on Lautaro
During the summit, Deco said: “He is a spectacular player, an Inter idol, captain and club legend. Out of respect for him and the club, when they told us they were not open to any deal, we did not go further.”
He added that the Spanish club was looking for a striker with Lautaro’s characteristics, but once it learned that Inter was not available, it halted the discussions out of respect for all parties.
The Inter club’s statement also reads that “we have spoken neither with the player nor with the agent” and that “we like him a lot as a player.”
The positive balance sheet was also supported by a reduction of roughly 50 percent in financial charges, amounting to €19 million, thanks to a refinancing completed at the end of the previous year.
Finally, the club has launched an investment plan for the development of the Inter Training Center in Appiano Gentile and the Konami Women & Talent Center in Interello, as well as a new partnership with BBVA for the 2026‑27 season.
